Appeal for witnesses after Soho robbery left man with ‘potentially life-changing’ head injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in Soho which left a man with “potentially life-changing” head injuries in the early hours of yesterday morning.

At around 1.30am the victim was assaulted and robbed of his phone by a group of men in Bateman Street, off Frith Street, in Soho.

The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital. A spokesman from the Met said: “His condition is not life-threatening, but potentially life-changing.”

An investigation is under way, led by CID officers based at Charing Cross police station. No arrests have been made at this stage.
