Armed robbers flee shop empty-handed after hitting victim

Detectives are investigating an attempted robbery in Lewisham.

Police were called at 1.17pm on Thursday, 21 December to reports of an attempted robbery at commercial premises on Burnt Ash Hill, SE12.

Officers, including firearms officers, attended.

The victim informed officers that at approximately 1pm, two suspects in possession of a firearm entered the building and threatened him before striking him on the head. They fled empty-handed.

The victim, a man aged in his 30s, was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service.

Detectives from Lewisham CID are investigating.
