Arrest made after death of 60-year-old pedestrian in Bexley collision
Police are appealing for witnesses and any road users with dash cam footage to come forward following a fatal collision.
Shortly after 11.30pm on Friday, a 60-year-old pedestrian was in collision with a car in Vicarage Road, at the junction with Tile Kiln Lane, Bexley.
Police, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended, but despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The car failed to stop at the scene.
A 45 year-old man subsequently attended a police station and was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at a collision. He remains in police custody.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who was travelling in or near Vicarage Road at the time of the incident and may have captured events on dash cam, to get in contact.
