Arrest made as murder suspicions arise over missing Welling woman
Police are appealing for the public’s help to find Nazire Koreli, who is missing from Welling.
Nazire, 54 was reported as missing to the Met on Friday, February 28. Early enquiries indicated that she hadn’t been seen or heard from since September 2024.
Nazire is described as a woman of a slim build, with light brown hair and olive skin.
Officers are carrying out multiple enquiries to find Nazire, and man in his 50s was yesterday arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with her disappearance. He remains in police custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, of the Met’s Specialist Crime South unit, said: “Since receiving this report our officers have made multiple enquiries to locate Nazire.
“We are keeping an open mind and this is currently being managed as a missing person investigation. Officers have arrested a man in connection with Nazire’s disappearance, who remains in custody.
“Nazire had many friends and acquaintances in the Bexley area, so we are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen her from September 2024 to March this year.”
