Attackers at large as woman and man remain in hospital after Brixton shooting

A woman and a man remain in hospital following an attack in Brixton that saw two people shot, one stabbed and another assaulted in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police were called just after 5am to reports of a fight and shots fired in Coldharbour Lane, Brixton.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended the scene in Rathgar Road – close to Loughborough Junction railway station – and found a woman suffering from gunshot injuries. She was taken to hospital by ambulance.

A LAS spokeswoman said: “We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a woman at the scene before taking her to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

Later that day three men took themselves to hospital, one with gunshot injuries, one who had been stabbed and one who had been assaulted.

The man who was shot and the man who was stabbed have since been discharged from hospital, after being assessed.

The woman who was shot and the man who had been assaulted remain in hospital. Their injuries are not life threatening, the Met said.
