A popular riverside neighborhood will host a summer programme of free outdoor activities this summer – with special emphasis on the upcoming Paris Olympics.
From July 1 to September 8, Battersea Power Station, in Wandsworth, will host The Battersea Games, a two-month calendar of summer activities.
Outdoor offerings open to the public will include a 100-metre running track, a climbing wall, cycle speed racing, fitness classes and a basketball court.
Outside of athletic activities, visitors can also enjoy evening film screenings, scaled-up chess and Connect Four boards or any of more than 140 shops and restaurants at the power station.

Sam Cotton, head of asset management at the Battersea Power Station Development Company, said: “We are excited for the grand return of The Battersea Games this summer.
“This year promises to be bigger, better and more electrifying than ever before, with the added excitement of an official Team GB and Paralympics GB fanzone at Battersea Power Station.”
In addition to the interactive activities, Battersea Power Station will also screen coverage from the 2024 Summer Olympics at its Official Team GB Battersea Power Station Fanzone from July 26 to August 11, followed by similar screenings for the 2024 Summer Paralympics from August 28 t0 September 8.
