Bermondsey and Southwark voters get the chance to quiz their General Election candidates

Parliamentary candidates for a London constituency will present their plans tonight, Thursday, a week ahead of the general election on 12 December.

Candidates for Bermondsey and Old Southwark from the Labour Party, Liberal Democrats, Conservatives and the Brexit party will answer residents’ questions at a hustings at St. George the Martyr Church on Borough High Street.

The event will begin at 6pm and ends at 8.30pm. The hustings is organised by Living Bankside, a local community group.

Participants:

Humaira Ali, Liberal Democrats.

Andrew Baker, Conservative.

Neil Coyle, Labour.

Alex Matthews, Brexit Party.

There’s a final chance to quiz the four candidates standing in the Putney, Roehampton and Southfields constituency before the General Election at a hustings event in Southfields.  It takes place at St Barnabas church, 146 Lavenham Road, Southfields SW18 5EP on Monday 9th December at 8 pm.  Doors will open at 7.30 pm.

Fleur Anderson, Fergal McEntee, Will Sweet and Sue Wixley are all standing for the first time in this constituency, bidding to succeed Justine Greening who decided to step down after nearly 15 years as MP.  Who are they, what do they stand for, what do they offer us if elected as our MP?  As well as the main national topics we’re all familiar with, what are the local concerns they need to address? NHS health care, town centre improvements, crime and safety on our Grid streets, the state of local transport – which ones are they interested in? All four of them will be at the hustings, which has been organised by the Southfields Grid Residents’ Association.

Questions can be submitted in advance, by Friday 6th December, to info@southfieldsgrid.org.uk
