Burglar who escaped from a police van in Brixton is found
A convicted burglar who escaped from a police van whilst being taken to prison has been found.
Kwami Richards, 42, had been wanted on recall to prison for breaking his licence conditions after serving his sentence.
Richards had been arrested and was being taken to prison by a private security company when he escaped in Brixton on Friday.
After being on the run for five days, Richards was found by officers in Brixton this morning and has been taken back into custody.
A spokesman from the Met said: “We thank the public and the media for their assistance in publicising this appeal.”
