Bus driver in custody as man remains in life-threatening condition after collision

A bus driver has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after a collision left a pedestrian in his 30s with life-threatening injuries.

The Met have today confirmed that the man in question remains in a critical condition following the incident, which happened in George Street, Croydon, at around 1.10pm on Saturday.

Officers attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service and the injured man was rushed to hospital.

The road was closed in both directions as police investigated the scene, near East Croydon station.

The bus driver remains in custody.
