CCTV released of car police want to identify in Julian Ebanks-Ford murder investigation

Detectives investigating the murder of Julian Ebanks-Ford have released footage of a car they want to identify.

Police said the driver of the car – which was in Kender Street, Peckham, at the time of the incident – may have witnessed the events unfold and could hold “crucial information”.

The CCTV shows a white car stop abruptly as two figures – who police have identified as Mr Ebanks-Ford and the suspect – run across the road in front of the vehicle.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Wood from the Met’s homicide investigation team, said: “It is possible that the driver and anyone else inside the vehicle are witnesses to this incident and I can reassure them they will receive all the support they require should they come forward to speak to us.

“The car had turned into Kender Street from Queens Road and came to an abrupt stop as Julian and the suspect ran across in front of the vehicle.”

Police have confirmed that one man has already appeared in court charged with Mr Ebanks-Ford’s murder.

Mr Ebanks-Ford died after being stabbed in Kender Street in the early hours of  August 4.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service. Mr Ebanks-Ford, 20, was found with stab wounds and was taken to hospital in a critical condition but sadly died later that afternoon.

Detectives have said they continue to support his family and they have been informed of this development.

A post-mortem examination on August 5 confirmed that Mr Ebanks-Ford died as a result of a single stab wound.

Police have asked anyone who can help the investigation to call 101 quoting CAD 265/04Aug or report information online and tweet @MetCC.

To remain anonymous contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
