Changes to bin collection times over Christmas

By Joe Coughlan, Local Democracy Reporter

Bin collections in Greenwich will run on an altered timetable during this year’s holiday period.

Greenwich residents can use a calendar on the council’s website to check the revised collection dates.

Collections from today until December 29 will be two days later, as well as from January 2 to January 6.

Collections due on December 30 will take place on January 3. Normal collections will return on Monday, January 9, but residents are asked to bear with the council on any delays.

People looking to dispose of their real Christmas trees can leave them beside their bin from January 9 as part of the green bin collection service.

Those living in flats can leave their real trees beside communal bins.

Residents are advised to remove all decorations, and can also dispose of their trees at the recycling centre in Nathan Way.

Bin collection dates over the Christmas and New Year period can be checked on the council website and in the latest issue of Greenwich Info, the fortnightly publication from the council.
