Charity announces fundraising walk to support people living with dementia
An Alzheimer’s charity is hosting a walk in London this October to raise funds to support people living with dementia.
The Alzheimer’s Society is calling on its supporters to join thousands of others to sign up to its London walk at Potters Field, Bermondsey on October 8 in an effort to help stop dementia devastating lives.
Those taking part have been advised to turn up at 10am, for an 11am start.
Supporters can walk as one or with many, in memory of a loved one, or just wanting to support Alzheimer’s Society’s work in their community.
One in three people born today in the UK will go on to develop dementia in their lifetime, and an estimated 78,7000 people are currently living with dementia in London.
The money raised by the walk will go towards funding faster diagnosis and research, helping people living with dementia now and in the future.
The sponsored walks are suitable for all ages and abilities, people can also choose to take on their own Memory Walk wherever they like, whenever they like, if they aren’t able to attend the date.
