Charity appeals for Christmas presents for hospital patients and staff

By Rebecca Spencer

Mental health organisation the Maudsley Charity has appealed to the public to donate Christmas presents and money for their 700 inpatients and staff members.

Cash donations will contribute to the £10,000 worth of Christmas presents the charity will buy, as well as helping to provide snacks to their hard-working staff on Christmas day.

Londoners can also donate new educational toys by dropping them to the children’s service at the Maudsley Hospital, Grove Lane, Denmark Hill – at the back of the Maudsley Hospital by this Friday, where they will be wrapped by volunteers and given to families who are most in need.

The Maudsley Charity provides NHS mental health services to people living in Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark. These areas include some of the highest rates of mental illness and inequality in Europe.
