A child and an adult were taken to hospital this morning after a fire broke out in a flat which also saw 40 people escape the block.
Six fire engines and about 40 firefighters tackled the blaze in a four-roomed flat on the fifth floor of a building in Strasburg Road, Battersea.

Fire crews from Clapham, Battersea, Chelsea, Lambeth, Wandsworth and Fulham fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Station Commander David Hill, who was at the scene, said: “Crews worked incredibly hard to quickly bring the fire under control.
