Christmas tree and tablecloth dress puts New Cross Miss England hopeful into final
A recycled Christmas tree and a tablecloth have won a family support worker a place in the final of the Miss England contest.
Constance Iloghalu from New Cross has won the Miss Eco award at the recent Virtual Miss England semi final and is now in the finals and could go on to represent England at the 70th Miss World final .
The 26-year-old won the Miss Eco round with an outfit made from her old Christmas tree and a discarded tablecloth.
Constance was planning to travel to Kenya in April 2020 to work at a children’s centre but due to Covid-19 this has been put on hold.
Constance was also one of the top two fundraisers in the contest. She managed to collect £1,350 for the Miss World Beauty with a Purpose charity, which helps disadvantaged kids around the world – and most of the amount she raised during lockdown. Constance then raised another £770 for a special tree planting project.
More than £10,000 was raised between contestants for charity. Beauty with a Purpose is the Miss World charity which helps disadvantaged children and youngsters throughout the world and contestants supported the Wedoethcialawards Tree Planting Campaign .
