Police are releasing an image of a man they would like to trace after an officer was injured following a routine vehicle stop in Lewisham.
On Thursday, 18 July at 4pm two officers in an unmarked police car stopped a white Renault van in Fordmill Road, after spotting damage to the vehicle.
One of the officers got out of the police car and spoke to the driver.
The driver then allegedly suddenly reversed his vehicle, knocking over the other officer who at this time was standing beside the police car.
The driver continued to reverse his vehicle on top of the officer as he lay on the ground before driving off.
An ambulance was called and the officer, aged in his 20s, was taken to a South London hospital, where he remains having suffered injuries to his leg and hand. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
The other officers involved in this incident did not sustain any injuries. All officers are attached to the Violent Crime Taskforce.
Police would like to speak to Nicholas Scantlebury, 35, in connection with this incident.
Anyone who has information as to his whereabouts is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC ref CAD 5244/18 July.
Information can be given to the independent charity Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111.
Good riddance
