Dulwich College pupils raise £2,500 for disability charity Sense

It’s the perfect solution to shut the kids up as term comes to an end.

Pupils at Dulwich College have raised more than £2,500 for the national disability charity Sense throughout December through things like a sponsored silence.

After voting to fundraise for the charity, they took on a range of challenges which also included a 32km swim, and a 143km run across 12 hours.

The middle school pupils in Years 9-11 also undertook a 65-press-up challenge which was inspired by the charity celebrating its 65th anniversary this year.

This was followed up by a series of sponsored silences from four different classes. Other sporting challenges were carried out throughout the month, including a blindfolded penalty shoot-out.

The most challenging of events was undertaken on Wednesday by five Year 9 students – Oliver, Andreas, Hamish, Nate, and Joseph.

The pupils took on a 12-hour sports relay which included a 32km swim and a 143km run. This tested the students’ physical and mental endurance, but they did not give up and completed this challenge.

The whole school cheered them on in their fundraising efforts and together the pupils raised £2,735 for the disability charity.
