Festive cheer for scores of sheltered accommodation residents
Christmas came early for 100 residents of sheltered accommodations in Bexley and Greenwich, who enjoyed a festive get-together.
The event, at Our Lady of Angels, Bexley Road, Erith, was a cracker and included a three-course sit-down meal followed by entertainment and dancing.
Residents tucked into a traditional Christmas turkey feast with all the trimmings funded by a £3,000 donation by partner Wates Group, who also paid for the for the hall hire, with the meal prepared by AB Catering.
Residents involved are under the umbrella of the L&Q housing association, which says it wants to invest around £3bn over 15 years to improve the safety, comfort, and environmental performance of residents’ homes.
Balbir Randhawa, resident support lead at L&Q, said: “The atmosphere in the hall and the happy faces of our residents said it all. I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved and for the funding that made this event possible. This shows that when we work together, we can achieve amazing things for our residents.”
