Four escape from fire in White City flats

Four people needed to evacuate a block of flats after a fire took hold in a three-roomed flat on the fourth floor.

Four fire engines and about 25 firefighters tackled the blaze in Australia Road, White City.

The occupants left the building before the London Fire Brigade arrived and were treated on scene by the London Ambulance Service.

Control Officers took the first of four calls just before 9am on Tuesday and mobilised crews from Hammersmith, North Kensington and Acton fire stations to the scene.

The incident was over for firefighters at 9.30am.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
