Greenwich free school ranked in top 12 schools in the country
A free school in Greenwich has been ranked among the top 12 schools in the country for progress, new figures released by the Department for Education show.
This year, Ark Greenwich Free School received a score of +1.4, which means students made nearly one and a half grades more progress than their peers nationally.
Ark Greenwich Free School’s Head of School, Tehrim Valibhai, said: “Our student’s achievements are nothing short of exceptional—especially for a non-selective school in a disadvantaged part of London.
“These outcomes are a testament to the dedication of our scholars, the commitment of our staff, and the trust our parents have placed in us.”
Located in Shooters Hill Road, Ark Greenwich is also the highest-performing school in the borough which has an average of -0.01 for progress.
The school’s success follows a stellar set of GCSE marks this summer, where more than 50 per cent of grades achieved were seven or above.
Ms Valibhai said: “We believe in no ceilings for what our children can achieve. Our ethos—same expectations, same provision, more support—ensures that every child, regardless of their background or additional learning needs, is supported to thrive.
“While we are immensely proud of these academic outcomes, what matters most is the young people our students have become.
“They walk away not just with brilliant grades, but with strong character, great values and ready to contribute positively to society.”
Ark is an education charity based in the UK, which has 39 schools in Birmingham, Hastings, London and Portsmouth.
