Greenwich thanks foster carers’ children as part of ‘Sons and Daughters Month’

A borough has thanked foster carers’ children for ‘creating a loving, safe and friendly’ space for children in need.

Greenwich Council is celebrating foster families this October as part of the Fostering Network’s ‘Sons and Daughters Month’.

Each son and daughter of a foster carer will be sent a personal care decorated with creative pictures drawn by young people in the borough.

Two special ‘thank you’ events will also be held during the month and all children over the age of five will be given the chance to win a skateboard donated by Only3Elements.

Councillor Matt Morrow, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “I’m so proud of the fostering community we have in Royal Greenwich, and, of course, the sons and daughters of our carers play a huge role in the lives of our looked-after children.

“I want to pay tribute to them for creating a loving, safe and friendly environment for other children.

“Thank you so much for everything you do, you should be so proud of yourselves.”
