Gunman shoots through Sainsbury’s window in Brixton

A gunman remains on the loose after shooting through a Sainsbury’s window on Monday night.

Police were called to Tulse Hill, Brixton, at around 10pm to reports of shots being fired.

Cops attended the scene and found evidence of a gun being discharged near a supermarket, where a window was smashed.

Nobody was injured in the shooting. One member of the public shopping in the store grazed her knee after dropping to the floor.

There have been no arrests at this stage as the Met continue their enquiries.

Superintendent Gabriel Cameron, based in Lambeth, said: “I know this incident will be very concerning for the local community and there was a large scene in place in Tulse Hill.

“Officers will be carrying out extra patrols in the area during the next few days.

“Any witnesses or anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to call 101, quoting CAD 8518/20May.”
