Harry and Meghan in Brixton
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met Lambeth council leader, Cllr Lib Peck, Lambeth Mayor Cllr Marcia Cameron and young people from the borough at Pop Brixton today during an official visit to Reprezent Radio.
Pop Brixton is a community project that houses independent local businesses, start-ups and new restaurants. Three quarters of the businesses are locally owned.
There are also six social enterprises based at Pop, including Reprezent, which benefit from subsidised rent for the three shipping containers where they operate.

Cllr Lib Peck, Lambeth council leader, said: “Reprezent are a brilliant organisation, so I’m delighted that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit today is helping highlight their incredibly valuable work. Having Harry and Meghan in Brixton and Lambeth is a real honour.
“Lambeth is an incredibly dynamic and successful borough.
“But there are challenges, including making sure all of our residents benefit from the huge amount investment and regeneration going in this borough.

“Organisations like Reprezent play an important role in achieving that aim. They are creating opportunities in broadcasting, music, marketing and more for young people that might other miss out. And that is hugely valuable for our community.”

Pop Brixton has seen nearly new 200 jobs created and dozens of start-up businesses incubated there. The site in the middle of Brixton is owned by Lambeth Council and run by Makeshift.
Pop is a temporary use featuring 50 shipping containers that have been on the site for two-years, with a two-year extension close being agreed.
