Hundreds of residents have already moved into a new £400million development which is set to be completed by the end of this year.
The New Acres development, located 400 metres from Wandsworth Town railway station, is planned to include 1,035 apartments ranging between one and three bedrooms, more than 250 of which have already been let.
Developer Legal and General Investment Management (LGIM) said the scheme will be one of the largest rental developments in the country, acting as a “self-contained neighborhood” with independent shops, restaurants, and markets, as well as public spaces and events programmes.
Don Batterson, head of residential at LGIM, said: “We hope this significant regeneration project will deliver much-needed homes to Wandsworth while supporting job growth and the local economy.”
Around 35 per cent of the new apartments are reserved for affordable housing tenants.
