Hunt for Lewisham knifeman: New images released

Detectives investigating a stabbing in Lewisham have released new photos of a suspect they want to trace.

Police were called to Westwood Hill, on Monday, August 8, at around 7.15pm, following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attended with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and found an 18-year-old man with stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition, he remains in hospital in serious but stable condition and his injuries are potentially life-changing.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area, and who has yet to speak with police, to come forward.

Detective inspector Spencer Thomas said: “A young man was stabbed a number of times in broad daylight at a bus stop.

“This was a brutal assault and it is only due to skilled medical intervention that he did not die. His injuries were so serious that he still remains in hospital and he may never fully recover.

“We need to find the man responsible for this assault, he is clearly a very dangerous individuals. If you see him, do not approach him but call 999.

“If you have any information call police or you can call Crimestoppers who will never ask for your name or trace your IP.

“However you want to help, please do call and tell us what you know, any information you have could be vital in helping us find this man.”
