Investigation launched after man’s body found in carpark 

An investigation has been launched after a man’s body was found in a car park yesterday morning.

Police were called at around 9.30am to the car park of Efra Court, Homelands Drive in Crystal Palace by a member of the public who had found an unresponsive man.

Police officers attended the scene and the man, aged in his 40s, was found to be deceased.

The officers believe they know who the man is and enquiries are underway to trace and notify next of kin. A post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity to get in touch. They are also keen for local people to check dash and doorbell camera footage.

Detective Chief Inspector Sal Minhas, who is leading the investigation, said: “A dedicated team of detectives are working to establish exactly what happened and identify who is responsible.

“Officers are at the scene and I would ask anyone with information about the incident to contact us immediately, no matter how minor the detail.

“Tackling violence remains a priority, and I urge the communities we serve to work alongside us to stop violence.“

A crime scene remains in place and enquiries continue.
