It’s double delight for A-level twins – and fellow students at Harris Garrard

Twin brothers Arturs and Kristians Balodis are among a whole cohort of students celebrating a fine set of A-level results this week at the Harris Garrard Academy in Thamesmead.

Arturs, who has shown an immense passion for one day becoming a doctor and making the world a better place, will be taking up a place for medicine at the University of St Andrews. His equally hard-working and ambitious brother Kristians is off to Queen Mary University of London to study law.

Congratulations are due to the entire year group at the Yarnton Way college in Erith, including Ayotunde Oyinbo, who has a place at University College London for chemistry.

Ayotunde was relentless in his preparation for his exams – he kept his chemistry teacher very busy by completing every possible past paper, so his success is well-deserved.

Also taking the plaudits was Beatrice Cucu, who with three A grades is off to King’s College London to study Biochemistry, Tiffany Esi Quarshie, who will be studying Pharmacy at the University of Manchester, and Pavan Guru, who will be taking up her dream place at Queen Mary University of London to study Economics.

Kristen Gringeri, head of Harris Garrard Academy, said: “We have an ambitious and highly-driven set of students and it is wonderful to see their hard work pay off so well.  My thanks and gratitude are also due to our staff, who were relentless in supporting students, and to our wonderful community of parents.”
