Just Stop Oil Heathrow protestors in court includes South London man

A man from Southwark is among 10 Just Stop Oil activists who have appeared in court charged with conspiring to disrupt Heathrow Airport.

Ten were arrested either at Heathrow Airport or in the vicinity on Wednesday as part of an intelligence-led policing operation.

They were charged with conspiracy to interfere with key national infrastructure under Section 7 of the Public Order Act 2003 and appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

William Goldring, 27, of Rye Lane, Southwark, along with a 74-year-old woman who appeared alongside him, were granted bail. Eight others, ranging in age from 28 to 60, were remanded in custody.

A condition of bail for Goldring is that he does not go within 1km of any airport unless he has a ticket to travel.
