Lawyers raise £11k for children’s hospital
Lawyers and legal clerks have raised more than £11,000 for Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
The team at Gateley raised the total through the London marathon, office dress down days, bake sales and more.
The funding will go towards a ‘magic carpet’ for the children’s hospital – an interactive system which projects different sensory programmes on the floor or wall. The therapeutic play unit will be used to encourage children to get out of bed and play after rehabilitation to aid recovery.
Paul Hayward, partner and head of Gateley’s London office, said: “I’m extremely proud of the team for raising more than £11,000 for this fantastic cause.
“Some of the staff in our London office have a personal connection to Evelina London Children’s Hospital, so it was a popular choice to support this charity and the wonderful work that they do in and around the city.”
Harriet Colley, corporate partnerships fundraiser at Evelina, said: “We’re so grateful to everyone at Gateley for their incredible fundraising efforts. It’s often difficult to encourage children to get out of bed after surgery, but the ‘magic carpet’ will help get them up, take their mind off recovery and help them get better more quickly, as well as being great fun on the wards.”
Evelina London is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and the second largest provider of children’s services in London.
