Lewisham teen charged with Clapton murder of Jason Romeo

A teenager from Lewisham has been charged with the murder of a 20-year-old man who was knifed to death in Clapton last week.

Joshua Ogedengbe, 19, of Brownhill Road, Lewisham, will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court today, charged with murder.

Arrested on Wednesday, he is the fifth person to be charged as part of the investigation into Jason Romeo’s death.

Raynolph Asante, 22, of Pembury Road, Hackney, Travis Mitchell, 22, of Bodney Road, Hackney, Rhamyah Bailey-Edwards, 21, of Williams Avenue, Walthamstow, and Renaldo Roberts, 25, of Hobbs Place Estate, Hoxton have all been charged with murder.

All four have been remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on November 3.

Cops launched a murder investigation after Mr Romeo was fatally attacked in a brutal stabbing in Bodney Road, Clapton, at around 6pm on February 18.

Enquiries remain ongoing.
