Leyland to ask customers to ‘add a pound for Macmillan’ next month
A DIY specialist will add extra gloss to the fundraising efforts of Macmillan Cancer Support for the whole month of October.
Leyland SDM, which has branches in Battersea Park Road, Clapham High Street will run its ‘Add a Pound for Macmillan’ initiative next month.
Customers at each of the branches will be invited to increase the value of their shop by £1 to make a donation to the charity.
Paul Gerreli, marketing director at Leyland SDM, said: “Macmillan Cancer Support does fantastic work and we are delighted to be showing our support in October.
“Customers will be given the chance to add £1 to their shopping bill and we will also be providing a contribution on behalf of the business, with an overall aim of raising £20,000 throughout the month.
“Sadly, the vast majority of people will have seen their lives touched by cancer in one way or another and Macmillan is close to the hearts of many.
“Like all charities and organisations, Covid-19 has had an impact on Macmillan. We have supported the charity in recent times and, while circumstances are very different this year, we were determined to continue with our backing.”
