Lib Dems choose candidate for Dulwich & West Norwood seat

The Liberal Democrats have named Donna Harris as the party’s parliamentary candidate for Dulwich & West Norwood.

Ms Harris, the Liberal Democrat leader of the opposition on Lambeth council. was elected as a councillor in May 2022.

With a professional background in fashion buying and marketing, she has lived in the area with her husband for more than 16 years, raising her son, Jacob, in the area.

Donna is vice-chairwoman of Lib Dem Women and a Green Liberal Democrat accredited candidate, and she continues to be a passionate advocate for environmental issues, as well as those affecting women and girls. Donna also serves on the West Norwood Cemetery Advisory Group.

She said: “I couldn’t be more thrilled that the local party membership has given me their overwhelming support to stand as the parliamentary candidate for Dulwich & West Norwood.

“As a committed European, I will fight for our place in Europe along with much-needed political reforms at Westminster, which are currently being denied by both the Conservatives and Labour.

I look forward to giving everyone across the constituency a voice, no matter their age, gender, ethnicity or sexuality. People are fed up with their vote being taken for granted – they deserve better.”

Richard Wingfield, chairman of the Southwark Liberal Democrats, said: “Since her election to Lambeth council, Donna has worked tirelessly for her constituents, and relentlessly held Labour to account.

“I’m delighted that she can bring this same determination and courage to her new role. ”
