Live: Firefighters advise residents to close windows due to ‘significant smoke’ from blaze

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) has issued a warning to residents in the Charlton area due to a fire which is currently producing ‘significant’ amounts of smoke.

Ten fire engines and about 70 firefighters are at the scene of the blaze at an industrial estate in Penhall Road.

A spokesman for the LFB said: “The fire is producing a significant amount of smoke and people in the area are advised to keep windows and doors closed.

“More information will be provided soon.”
