London Lions will play their March 16 fixture against Glasgow Rocks at Brixton Recreation Centre – to celebrate the homecoming of Justin Robinson.

The point guard played in Europe for six years following a stellar American college career at Rider University.

Robinson also represented GB at EuroBasket 2013 before signing for London Lions in September.

He is a protege of Brixton Topcats coach Jimmy Rogers. Robinson said: “Playing at Brixton Rec will be special for me. It’s where I started as a nine-year-old boy and it is a place that is still near to my heart.

“A family, my community, it really was everything to me growing up. It will be great to play in front of the kids and some old faces.”

Rogers added: “Justin has never left, because he is always here working in the summer at our basketball camp and speaking to the kids here. He’s an exceptional talent, has great humility and it’s been a pleasure to coach him.

“His story is an inspiration to a lot of our youngsters.”

The game against the Rocks tips off at 7.30pm.

Limited £10 tickets are available from www.londonlionsbasketball.co.uk/club/london-lions-v-glasgow-rocks.html with £5 schools tickets available here debbie@thelondonlions.com.
