Loo dumped in the street
A brazen fly-tipper has dumped a toilet at the “bottom” of a South London street – and it does not seem to be from a convenience store.
The toilet, above, appeared on Friday in Freshford Street in Summerstown, Wandsworth – casting more doubt over the council’s control over fly-tipping in the area.
From April 2020 to March 2021, Wandsworth council issued more than 3,600 fines for littering and fly-tipping offences.
A tweet of the toilet was by Rob W who said: “(Wandsworth council), any chance you could deal with this at the bottom of Freshford Street? Thanks.”
Councillor Steffi Sutters, Wandsworth council’s environment spokeswoman, said: “No one likes a fly-tipper, which is why we’re taking action against those who think they can get away with dumping rubbish illegally.”
