Man appears at the Old Bailey after victim of Brixton bus attack dies

A Brixton resident has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a man died following an attack on a bus.

Nathan Grant, 39, of Lambeth Walk, Brixton, appeared at the Old Bailey today. 

Police said the charges will be amended to murder at a later hearing, with the date still to be confirmed.

Cops launched an investigation after a disturbance involving two men on a route 59 bus at around 10.20am in Brixton Road, on November 21.

Donovan Martin, aged 40, was taken to hospital after the incident. He died from his injuries just after 2.30pm on November 25.

His family are being supported by specialist officers, the Met said.

Grant was originally charged with attempted murder and theft on November 22. He appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court the following day and was remanded in custody, to appear at the Old Bailey today.
