Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing of 18-year-old at carnival
A man has been charged with attempted murder after an 18-year-old was stabbed multiple times at Notting Hill Carnival on Monday.
Rumarni Tuitt, 18, of Waltham Forest was charged on Wednesday with attempted murder and possession of a knife.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday, where he was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on September 26.
The charge comes after officers responded to a stabbing on the final day of carnival, in Canal Way, at around 7.55pm.
An 18-year-old man was found with a number of injuries including a serious wound to his stomach.
Police and medics from London’s Air Ambulance gave lifesaving medical support until paramedics arrived.
The injured man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable, but critical condition.
Tuitt was arrested at the scene of the incident and was taken into custody for questioning before he was charged on Wednesday.
