Man charged with attempted murder of mum stabbed at Carnival

A man will appear in court this morning charged with the attempted murder of a 32-year-old woman who was stabbed at Notting Hill Carnival on Sunday.

Shakiel Thibou, 20, of Masbro Road, Hammersmith, was arrested at an address in Hammersmith and Fulham yesterday morning.

He was charged with attempted murder, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon in the early hours this morning.

Two other men have been charged in relation to the same incident. The three men are brothers, police said.

Sheldon Thibou, 24, of Star Road, Hammersmith, has been charged with violent disorder, possession of a stun gun and assaulting an emergency worker.

Shaeim Thibou, 22, of Charleville Road, West Kensington has been charged with violent disorder and assaulting an emergency worker.

All three were remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Cops deployed in Golborne Road, as part of the Carnival policing operation, were made aware of a woman who had been stabbed at around 6pm.

The officers, including police medics, gave emergency medical treatment until the arrival of paramedics. The woman was transported to hospital where she remains in a critical condition, the Met said.

While the investigation is ongoing, police believe the woman got caught up in the middle of an altercation between two groups of men.

It is not yet clear if they were known to her.
