Man charged with murder of lorry driver

A man has been charged with the murder of a Ukranian lorry driver in Belvedere.

An investigation was launched after police were called to reports of a man found injured outside Belvedere railway station shortly before 10.15pm on September 18 last year.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, Vitali Skrypniak, who was aged 45 and from Lviv Oblast in Ukraine, died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination held on September 21, 2021 gave cause of death as a single stab wound to the chest.

Christopher Brownly-Otiede, 27, of Sorrell Close, Bexley, was charged on Friday with murder.

He was due to appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
