Officers were called to Rye Lane, at around 4.15pm on Friday, following a report of an alleged knifing.

A 15-year-old boy was found suffering injuries to his neck. The London Ambulance Service attended and the victim was taken to hospital where his injuries were deemed non-life threatening and non-life changing.

Thomas Denton, 31, of Barry Road, Peckham was charged on Sunday with Section 18 GBH, criminal damage and common assault on an emergency worker.

He was also charged with racially or religiously aggravated behaviour, causing fear or provocation of violence by using threatening, or abusive and insulting words likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
