Man charged with sex assault in queue to see the Queen

A man charged with two counts of sexual assault at Victoria Tower Gardens near the end of the queue to see Queen Elizabeth lying in state, has been remanded in custody.

Adio Adeshine, who turns 20 on Saturday, of East Street Walworth, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of breach of a sexual harm prevention order.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Southwark Crown Court on October 14.

It follows an incident on Wednesday, in which two women were allegedly sexually assaulted in the gardens, which served as the final staging post for those wishing to see the Queen’s coffin in Westminster Hall.

Officers were called and a man was arrested and taken into custody. He was later charged.
