Man dies after falling from Tate Modern

A man has died after falling from the Tate Modern this morning.

Police were called at around 10.45am to reports that a man had fallen from the art gallery on Bankside, South Bank. Police have described the incident as “unexpected” but not “suspicious”.

Police officers, London’s Air Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service attended. Despite the efforts of medics, the man died at the scene.

A spokesman for the Met said: “Enquiries are under way to identify the man and notify next of kin.

“A scene and cordons remain in place.

“The death is currently being treated as unexpected but is not thought to be suspicious.”
