Man in 50s dies after fall from Bermondsey flats

A man in his 50s, who has yet to be formally identified, has died after a fall at Bermondsey’s Dickens Estate on Sunday.

London ambulance crews were called out to the flats in Marine Street at 5am after reports that a man had fallen multiple storeys.

Despite the efforts of the paramedics, the man, who was found unresponsive and with severe trauma, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police officers believe they know who the man is, and are working to inform next of kin.

The death is being treated as unexpected, though initial enquiries do not indicate it is suspicious, but enquiries continue, police say.

But anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to call 101 and quote CAD reference 1238/22JAN23. Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
