Man in critical condition after Stockwell bus collision

Police investigating a serious road traffic incident in Stockwell are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service shortly before 12.30pm on Saturday, following reports of a collision involving a single-decker bus and a man in South Lambeth Road, with the junction with Lansdowne Way.

Emergency services attended and provided first aid. The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Work is ongoing to establish the man’s identity, and anyone who can assist is asked to contact police.

The driver of the bus, who stopped at the scene, was not arrested and is assisting police with the investigation.

Road closures were put in place while the scene was dealt with – these have now been lifted.
