Man pleads not guilty in Johanita Dogbey murder trial
A man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of a woman who was stabbed to death in Brixton earlier this year.
Johanita Dogbey, 31, was stabbed in broad daylight in Stockwell Park Wallk on May 1.
Mohamed Nur, 34, of Vauxhall, appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to murdering Ms Dogbey.
He also denied three counts of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) and possessing offensive weapons made from scissor blades and broken mirror glass.
Shortly after her death, Ms Dogbey’s family said: “Our hearts are completely broken and will not understand why someone would take our beautiful girl away from us.
“She will forever be in our hearts as we will carry on living life as gracefully and beautifully as she did.”
Nur allegedly also attacked two women and a man in Brixton in separate incidents in Town Hall Parade, Brixton Road and Acre Lane in Brixton, two days before Ms Dogbey was murdered.
Nur was remanded into custody until a further hearing, set to take place on November 17.
