Man still in critical condition after early morning assault at Woolwich bus stop

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Woolwich that has left the victim in a critical condition.

Officers were called shortly before 3.30am on Sunday, March 17 to reports of a 35-year-old man assaulted close to the bus stop outside Woolwich library in Wellington Street.

London Ambulance Service crews attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment – where he remains in a critical condition, receiving treatment.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 5ft ins tall tall, wearing dark clothing,

Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident, or anyone who can assist the investigation, is asked to call the Met’s Serious and Complex Crime team based at Lewisham via 101 – please quote 01/99520/24.
