Man taken to hospital after first floor of house ‘destroyed’ by fire
A man was taken to hospital yesterday after he was rescued from a house fire.
The first floor of a mid-terraced house in Hampton Road, Forest Hill, was destroyed by fire. One man was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled the blaze.
The Brigade was called at around 8.30pm and the fire was under control by around 9.30pm.
Fire crews from Stratford, Leytonstone, East Ham and Plaistow fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
