Man wanted after spate of mosque burglaries

Cops have released an image of a man they urgently want to speak to after a spate of burglaries at mosques around the country.

The man, Anthony Cheike, 55, is described as being about 6ft 8in tall, with a shaved head and stubble.

He was last seen in Mitcham, in May.

He is wanted for 12 offences including bail offences, failure to appear at court and burglary.

Police have linked Mr Cheike to a series of burglaries over the past year, where large amounts of cash were allegedly stolen from eight mosques, including one in Manor Park, Newham.

If you recognise this man, or if you have any information which could help, please report it to police online, or call 101, quoting 3239/05OCT24.

Alternatively, this can be reported to the independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
