Met issues images of 11 sought in relation to fan violence at Millwall v Birmingham clash

Police are appealing for the public’s help in identifying 11 people in relation to disorder following the Millwall v Birmingham City match on March 9.

Several officers were injured during the disorder outside The Den, and video footage has subsequently been reviewed to identify those involved.

Police say that the images they have released are all believed to be Birmingham supporters who travelled to South London for the match.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray by Met cops on Tuesday of last week in Birmingham, with the assistance of West Midlands Police officers. He was taken into custody in Birmingham before being released on bail.

Detective Constable Phil Dickinson, of the Met’s Public Order Crime Team, said: “The vast majority of football supporters are there to enjoy the game, with a small number spoiling the atmosphere for others.

“The Met’s unit that deals with disorder at football matches will prosecute those looking to engage in criminality before, during or after fixtures in London.”

Anyone able to identify anyone in the images is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, 100 per cent anonymously.

Millwall said they would not be commenting on this as it was strictly a police matter. Birmingham City have been approached for a comment.
