Met officer pleads not guilty to stalking charge
A serving Met officer pleaded not guilty to a stalking charge in court today.
PC Ben Bunsell, attached to Central South Command Unit, was arrested on suspicion of harassment and stalking on Friday and was charged with stalking on Saturday.
He appeared in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today and pleaded not guilty.
The offence the charge relates to is alleged to have occurred over the past two months, while the officer was off duty, and relates to one woman.
PC Bunsell was bailed to appear for trial at the same court on October 10.
A spokesman for the Met said: “The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards are aware.
“PC Bunsell has since been suspended from duty.”
